Topic Interests

I am excited to pick a topic to begin researching during this course. My hope is that through this course I will gain a newfound confidence when it comes to researching for projects in school, the workforce, and beyond. I have a few ideas on what I may want to research but I don't know if I've landed on any specific topic yet. Of course, an easy idea would be to research the effects of AI on the field of technical writing; however I feel that the topic is a little too current. I also think it would be interesting to research the correlation between students earning undergraduate degrees in technical writing and their job outlook in the field after graduation. I just don't know if either of these topic will actually have enough info to fulfill a full research project.

  2. Hi Kaistin,

Good start on your first blog and distilling your interest in our "Worksheet for developing goal and research questions" in-class activity!! The ideas you brainstormed here are all rife with possibilities for research and I really like the idea of you narrowing it further down to standardized templates (so far). Keep it up and I suspect you'll be able to hone it even more to a specific context as you move forward. :)

Of course, other research angles for any research topic might also be possible. Meanwhile, continue plowing through scholarly articles for ideas and once you're ready to identify your direction (or if you need more help), please let me know and maybe we can set a brief meeting to talk about it, ok?

    Am here --
