Tentative Sources

I unfortunately right now only have two tentative sources, but it's better than none! I plan to do more research this week and add to the list as I begin to also annotate. On the bright side, I have confirmed my topic idea. I want to research the role of technical document templates and how they measure up to original "from scratch" work. For instance, I would like to see if companies prefer a memo created from a template or "from scratch" more. I'm excited to see what this research brings up.

  1. Edit:

    1. So far it there seems to be an influence of journal articles, but not a lot of dissertations or other types of sources

    2. From these sources, I could organize some topics or headings, such as "responses" to showcase the various responses people are having toward templates, and then maybe a heading that's just "analysis" to show the info that's being gathered on analysis of these templates.

    3. Some voices that are missing from this topic are the voices of business owners or hiring agents. I can see a lot of sources that have student or teacher voices, but not directly from companies that would be hiring technical writers to produce these pieces of writing.

    4. The most fruitful databases or journals that I am currently finding sources for is Technical Communication Quarterly.

    5. I think that the Assesment Theory would be great for the literature Review.
